It was smooth turning and good to play with, however the spring tended to creak from time to time. All good aside from that.

it starts off very stiff and lube doesn't help much

This was my first square one and straight out of the box, I loved it. The complexity of the cube is amazing however the cube does tend to catch. The middle layer of the cube is quite stiff and even after lubricating it, still didn't work very well. This cube is great for people who want to try square 1 however I would recommend getting one at a slightly higher price.

It turns very well and is extremely cheap
