Out of the box it feels consistent and solid. A drop of lube on the pieces and springs quietened it down a bit.
I’m quite slow at 5x5, so I’ve not experienced any pops or disastrous catches, but I really think it could pop if you’re fast. Tighter tensions keep it stable but do slow the cube down.
There’s not really any corner cutting, but reverse corner cutting on the 3x3 solving phase is surprisingly good. For me the pieces never catch against one another. The magnet bump is solid and slightly stronger on the inner layers: when I flick the outer layer, the inner layers are never pulled along; when I flick the second layer, the middle layer is sometimes pulled along.
The stickerless shades are strong and very nice. I’m red-green colourblind and this is the best colour balance I’ve seen in a cube. I never have trouble discerning the colours at all.
At just over $20 it’s an incredible 5x5 option. As I improve I’ll need a faster, more stable cube, but this is perfect for my beginner phase. I have the Yusu V2M 4x4 too, and I’ll definitely pick up the Yushi V2M 6x6 and Yufu V2M 7x7 for all the same reasons.
Service was excellent as always.
